Sable Trust is dedicated to educating the public about the unique and fragile nature of the Island’s environment. We are preserving this knowledge for all Canadians.
Design a Banner for Sable Island

The Design-A-Banner contest is an opportunity to submit an original art creation illustrating the importance of Sable Island to the young artist, to Nova Scotia, to Canada and the world. The contest promotes learning and awareness about Sable Island among students in grades 4-6.

The contest was first held in 2005 and the winner was Nicole Edwards of Lakeview, Nova Scotia. Her wonderful "Please support us!" picture was voted best picture by the attendees at our Annual General Meeting on June 16, 2005. See the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners' pictures below.

Please watch this page or contact us directly for further details on when the contest will be held again.

In second place was Hayley Armbruster's "2 horses on a beach".

Sarah Budgell's "Don't steal the ponies!" received the third place prize. Congratulations!

And congratulations to everyone who entered, there were some wonderful pictures of Sable Island.
