Moving Sands Video

Interested in learning more about life on Sable Island? The Moving Sands is a one hour documentary drama featuring Trixie Bouteillier, an island resident from 1885-1912. In a 1967 interview, Trixie recounts tales of her life on a desolate island of sand, wind and fog.

If you prefer to curl up with a good book, the Sable Island Journal chronicles the experiences of Sable Island’s first superintendent from 1801–1804. Read about violent storms, shipwrecked passengers, daily life and more.

Limited Edition "Sable Island Horses" Prints

We are proud to be able to offer limited edition, signed prints of "Sable Island Horses" by Al Chaddock! This 17"X23" print of one of Al's acrylic on canvas paintings is a beautiful rendition of the wildness of Sable Island and its horses. The painting's sister image is owned by UNICEF and holds the world-wide record for UNICEF's all-occasion card sales. As a well-known Atlantic Canadian artist, Al's clients include the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the National Art Gallery of Canada.
